A Campaign for Kids

This campaign was about encouraging kids to get creative and design the new Tucker+Tate shoe box. The challenge was to draw the attention of children and parents alike with cute, kid-focused visuals in order to get maximum participation in the contest. I created ‘Shoebox Guy’, a doodle-style character to be the project’s ambassador. Circus-inspired typography and colors, juxtaposed with the minimal Nordstrom brand type and background proved a playful and tonally on brand combination.

Being given creative freedom at an organization with very strict identity standards is rare, so receiving the brief for a project that had no previous visual precedent or tethered assets was a thrill. These small projects, in my experience, is where creativity and delight can truly shine. Making something out of nothing is where I thrive—even with a super tight timeline and zero budget.
